Santa Barbara City College Multimedia Arts

Multimedia is a rapidly growing industry emerging from the synthesis of digital and interactive computer technologies, video, audio, animation, and images. The Multimedia Arts program at Santa Barbara City College provides real world training in the concepts, tools, and techniques for today's occupations: web development, digital artistry, sound design, animation or video.

The Multimedia Arts curriculum develops students' artistic, creative and technical competence by providing hands-on training in state-of-the-art software, theory, and concepts. The program prepares students for employment in industry or for transfer to programs at 4-year institutions. Our courses give students a background in art, design, writing, sound, video, animation, and the tools of the trade.

Currently, we offer 5 areas of study for students seeking an Associates of Arts Degree or a more specialized and concentrated Certificate.

Along with teachers who bring a passion for teaching into the classroom, our program offers a state-of-the-art Digital Arts Center, including over 150 computers, scores of scanners, digital editing and audio workstations, digital video cameras, lighting equipment, and a new production studio.
