Mexican doll w/ papoose, circa 1915
Mother Doll carries child on back / Papoose, I called them Maria & Pepita
Hand Crafted Folk Art Circa 1915
16″ tall
Their molded cloth heads are covered with a very thin silk “skin” with hand-painted features.
Condition: MINT (never been played with)
She is exquisitely dressed in a typical peasant ensemble that is well-made: blouse, pleated skirt, and papoose scarf, bare feet and yet…. she is wearing strands of delicate mercury glass? beads around her neck and bright red glass earrings!
She’s elegant, unique. Rare.
